Biosolids are the treated residues generated during the processing of domestic sewage at a wastewater treatment facility. They may include domestic septage and non-hazardous commercial and industrial wastes that are processed during the treatment process. After they are treated and processed, these nutrient-rich organic materials are recycled and applied as fertilizer to improve and maintain productive soils and stimulate plant growth.
