The Meth-wise Program in northeast Colorado was based on a grant funded by The Colorado Trust and supported by Rural Solutions. The program began in August, 2002 and ran through August, 2005. Although the program no longer exists, the information we obtained and distributed is very valuable, as the issue of methamphetamine use and distribution continues to be a problem in this and many other regions of Colorado. During the three-year grant period, the Meth-wise Program provided increased awareness about the impact of methamphetamine on the residents of northeast Colorado. Information about meth and its manufacture was made available to various businesses who may have sold ingredients used in the manufacture of meth as well as businesses that may have sent employees into homes or other places where math labs could have been located. In addition, we provided increased awareness of meth to both students and adults at local schools, community groups and organizations, and the communities of northeast Colorado. Prevention tips regarding anhydrous ammonia theft were also made available to agricultural dealers and growers. If you are interested in learning more about methamphetamine, its manufacture or the clean up of a meth lab, we can provide a presentation for your business or organization. We can also provide resource materials including informational brochures and videos.
