NCHD's Environmental Health Division is the regulatory branch of public health. Many of the programs we oversee are governed by state statute as well as local regulations that have been adopted by our Board of Health. Our environmental health staff, referred to as generalists since they work in every program we offer, perform various inspections, license facilities and provide education on a number of topics to help protect our communities against environmental hazards.
In addition to our regular duties, we also respond to signed complaints regarding environmental issues such as illegal dumping, unsafe food practices and regulation violations. If you have a complaint to file, download this
Compliance Complaint Form, fill it out and bring it to one of our offices. Only signed complaints will be followed up on.
